CPAD and other stuff
Well I finished up another pair of legwarmers. Made out of Solo yarn with Size 15 needles, Denise set of course. I wanted them bulky and warm and they turned out good. For my friend's daughter.
Yay, very exciting news. First read about it on Deneen's
blog - she received her Crochet Pattern-a-Day 2007 Calendar from the publisher, and lo behold they had accepted the pattern I had sent in to them!! I received a copy in the mail from the publisher this week, it was SO exciting to get. Another great set of patterns galore in here again too. There are quite a few projects I want to make. I need more spare time, haha. What is also so much fun is going through the calendar and seeing all the people's names I know from their blogs that I read.
I've got a Stitch'n'Bitch lunch today so I'm hoping I can finish up my SWS legwarmers I'm making. They're so close to being done, and I need them to keep my ankles warm since it's getting cold so much of the time here now.
A guy at work gave me a copy of "The Black Dahlia" by James Ellroy so I'm reading that now, in addition to 3 other books. Such a balancing act of reading I have, but I'm reading "System of the World" in bed, another true crime book downstairs, a spy book on the couch, and another one at breaks at work. Does anybody else have several books on the go like I do?
Have a great week everyone!
I need ...
sigh,...I need warm coffee
The heater control blew in my car, so it's in the garage getting a new one today to the tune of over $400 :(
Only Oct 10 yesterday and we had snow and flurries all afternoon, making for a lot of bitchy and depressed people...including me. I figured I should hang on til I got home and knew Curly would give me some laughs romping in the first snowfall. That's always so cute. I took a little video of him and put it up on YouTube
here. Too funny.
I crocheted a lot over the weekend, making a hat and scarf for Brooke, which turned out really cute. She's only 8 and she's itching to learn how to crochet. She's mastered the knitting knobby thing so her mom is buying her the Knifty Knitter set and she wants to try making a scarf. She even used her own chore money to buy two balls of yarn, and was excited to phone me from Michael's when she bought them, haha.
She loves pink,...of course :) There was enough that I made her a matching hat and also matching one for her doll and added in some more yarn to make a scarf too.
They turned out really cute.
I also started a new afghan with a real easy pattern, just to have a long term project sitting around the house I can work on. Made out of RHSS again, but I had picked this stuff up on clearance with discontinued colors for $1 each so can't go wrong. I finished about 1/3 of the ghan just on the weekend.
I bought some Paton's SWS wool - that stuff is so soft and the striping is beautiful. I'm knitting some legwarmers (another fixation of mine, hehe).
The hat pattern I used was from this mag.
That's it for now...my coffee's ready and I'm about to take a swan dive into the cup. Have a great day!!
